Become a Stroke Hero Today!

Someone in the United States has a stroke every 40 seconds, yet many don't recognize the warning signs. Children are often present when stroke emergencies happen. With the right knowledge, kids can become lifesaving first responders.

Mission: BE FAST teaches kids how to identify strokes and act quickly when

every minute matters.

Mission: BE FAST started in Shoreline, Washington as a Girl Scouts Gold Award project. Our goal is to make stroke education accessible to all classrooms.

Why Teach Kids About Stroke?

In 2024, my sister's Girl Scout troop leader and family friend experienced a devastating stroke. Her 10-year-old daughter was the first person to find her and call for help. Kids can be first responders but we need to be equipped with the knowledge to do so. - Maya Vachranukunkiet (Project Leader)
